Pierre du Pont's love of water and fountains is embodied in this garden. Pruned littleleaf linden trees, clipped ivy, and green lawns surround six large and 12 small blue-tiled pools with 600 jets of water and a water staircase that recirculate 4,500 gallons of water each minute.
Noteworthy plants: littleleaf linden (Tilia cordata), English ivy (Hedera helix), inkberry (Ilex glabra)
The fountains run continuously from mid-April until mid-October, from 9:00 am or until 15 minutes before Gardens close (until dusk on the evenings that the Gardens are open late).
Please note that the fountain schedule is subject to change or cancellation due to extreme weather conditions.
