Audio/Visual Assistant
Function:
Operate audio/visual equipment during Continuing Education courses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate slide projector, LCD projector, dissolve units, overhead projector, digital image projector, video, cassette/CD, screen
- Operate sound system and control classroom lighting
- Arrive at least 30-45 min. before the start of the course
- Assist instructor with microphone and audio/visual mechanics
- Assist with refreshment set up
- Assist students, including those with special needs
Requirements/Expectations:
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
- Learn and be proficient in operation of various types of A/V equipment
- Ability to effectively communicate with instructors and class attendees
- Complete required orientation and training
- Follow Longwood Gardens’ policies, procedures, and standards
- Accept direction and guidance of supervisor and class instructors
- Be punctual and dependable
Time Required:
- Volunteer hours depend on class time and length
- May include day and evening hours on weekdays or weekends
- A minimum of 8 shifts per brochure period (Dec.-May and June-Nov.)
- Certificate Series courses run for 6-7 consecutive weeks
