Bird and Wildlife Survey Team

Function:

Assist other Volunteers in recording bird and wildlife observations throughout Longwood's 1,050 acres

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Make regular visits to Longwood's Managed Meadow throughout the year in cooperation with other Longwood Volunteers

Requirements/Expectations:

• Knowledge and interest in birds and wildlife is needed
• Make regular visits to Longwood throughout the year
• Work in cooperation or in teams with other Longwood Volunteers for observations
• Work in cooperation with Longwood Gardens' staff for entry into non-public areas
• Coordinate visits with Volunteer Coordinator and/or other Volunteers
• Record observations on bird and wildlife survey lists
• Participate in team meetings when possible
• Follow Longwood Gardens' policies, procedures, and standards

Time Required:

• Regularly scheduled visits to Longwood may be daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
• Visits require two to three hours, or more, depending on available time and individual interest
• Team meetings are scheduled periodically as needed
