Christmas Visiting Tips

November 23, 2013–January 12, 2014

Buy Before You Arrive - Timed Admission Tickets Required - Tickets Limited

To ensure a pleasurable visit to Longwood Gardens during such a busy time, let us suggest a few visiting tips:

  • Timed Admission Tickets Required. Timed tickets sell out quickly, so purchase early and online at tickets.longwoodgardens.org to avoid disappointment! You will choose the date and start time of your visit upon purchase. Once you enter the Gardens, you may stay as long as you wish.

  • Using Complimentary Tickets? Check your tickets as some restrictions may apply.

  • Come Early! Arrive by 2:00 pm and you’ll miss the evening rush of traffic and still have time to explore all the Brandywine Valley has to offer after your visit to the Gardens. The outdoor holiday lights and fountain theatre shows set to holiday music come alive at 3:30 pm and run continuously throughout the evening so you’ll have plenty of time to experience the magic of the evening.

  • Save on Non-Peak Days. Purchasing a timed ticket during a Non-Peak day means fewer crowds and you save! Non-Peak days are Mondays through Fridays from November 28–January 12 (except December 26–31) Click here for pricing.

  • Print Your Tickets at Home. To avoid lines, we encourage you to print your tickets at home and show them to our Guest Services staff upon entry.

  • Allow for Travel Time. Plan to arrive one hour prior to any special concerts or dining reservations. If you are coming on a Peak day, please allow for additional travel time.

  • Parking is Available. Parking is free. Remote parking is used if needed. Transportation from remote parking areas to the Gardens is provided. Handicap parking is available in the Main lot of Longwood Gardens please display your handicap permit so our staff can appropriately direct you to the designated area.

  • Dress for the Outdoors! A Longwood Christmas is both indoors and outdoors. Please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. To see all of the outdoor lights, there is ample walking involved.

  • Shop and Dine in the Gardens. Restaurants, concessions, and The GardenShop are all available for you. Make reservations in our fine dining restaurant, 1906 the same day you purchase your timed admission ticket. You can also enjoy a more casual Café service which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
