East Conservatory Assistant

Function: Assist with maintenance of horticultural displays in the East Conservatory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Groom plants, including deadheading, watering, pruning, and replacing
  • Assist with daily and seasonal display changes
  • Assist with seasonal display preparation, including Christmas tree lighting

Requirements/Expectations:

  • Able to work independently
  • Able to stoop and bend
  • Able to lift 20 pounds
  • Complete required orientation and training
  • Follow Longwood Gardens’ policies, procedures and standards
  • Accept direction and guidance from work supervisor
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Purchase and wear safety shoes
  • Read Volunteer Handbook and follow procedures therein

Time Required:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, 7:00-11:30 AM
  • Minimum of 1 shift per week
