Flower Garden Walk

Function:

Assist gardening staff with maintenance of Longwood's Flower Garden Walk

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plant, prune, mulch, water, and deadhead plants as needed
• Divide and replant herbaceous plants
• Clean walks and paths as needed
• Stake plants as needed
• Assist staff with display changes
• Assist staff with other work as needed

Requirements/Expectations:

• Work independently and with others
• Learn and become proficient in various corrective and annual pruning techniques
• Lift 50 pounds (bags of fertilizer)
• Complete required orientation and training
• Follow Longwood Gardens’ policies, procedures and standards
• Accept direction and guidance from work supervisor
• Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle
• Punctual and dependable
• Purchase and wear safety shoes

Time Required:

• Minimum of one 7-hour shift per week, April through October
