Guitar Concert Featuring Jay Smar

Jay Smar performs on guitar, fiddle, banjo and vocals, recreating many of the traditional songs of the Northeast Pennsylvania coal mines.

His interpretations of coal mining songs have earned him the honor to record music for a BBC Welsh documentary titled "The Welsh in America" tracing the migration of the Welsh to the coal fields of Pennsylvania. Smar has toured Scotland and performed at the Philadelphia Folk Festival and his original compositions have been used for documentaries, PBS television and radio commercials.
