Landscape Design Elective Course – 3 credits
In this three-part course, students will explore the characteristics of a healthy habitat. The first session will provide information and discussion about why it is important to create backyard habitats. The second session will explore what we can do as designers to improve habitats in our gardens and regional landscapes. The final session will include a discussion of the habitat projects. The students will inventory and evaluate a part of their home landscape, create goals and objectives for creating a habitat, and provide a species list that also details the habitat values of the chosen plants. Each session will include a "field trip" to explore the woodlands, meadows, and Pollinator Garden at Longwood.

Limited to 24.
