Herbarium & Curatorial

Function: Prepare herbarium specimens and assist in a variety of curatorial projects

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collect plant specimens in the garden
• Mount, label, and file herbarium specimens
• Assist in library research, typing, transcribing, editing, and filing
• Assist with special research activities related to curatorial projects
• Complete required orientation and training
• Follow Longwood Gardens' policies, procedures, and standards
• Minimum three hours per week
• This position may be held by more than one volunteer

Requirements/Expectations:

• Familiarity with basic functions of personal computers
• Willingness to work independently
• Willingness to work outdoors
• Purchase and wear safety shoes
