Students analyze the Impressionist movement and paintings of Claude Monet. They apply impressionistic techniques to create garden-inspired original works of art in oil pastel.
Students experience the characteristics of different biomes as they travel through the beautiful 4 acre conservatory. Students identify specific adaptations as they explore diverse plant species surviving in these unique environments.
Students discover plant reproduction as they explore the gardens. Travel “behind-the-scenes” to greenhouses where plants are propagated at Longwood. Students develop an understanding of gymnosperm and angiosperm reproduction as they journey through Longwood’s 4 acre conservatory.
Programs are offered T, W, Th, F at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, and are approximately 90 minutes in length. Reservations require a minimum of 15 students and 2 chaperones.
