Integrated Pest Management Scout

Function:

Assist in locating and identifying pest populations in Longwood’s Indoor and Outdoor displays

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform regular walks to scout assigned areas, including outdoor gardens or Conservatory displays
• Compile brief report of pest activity seen
• Interact with the IPM staff on findings

Requirements/Expectations:

• Knowledge of plant pests and diseases helpful, but not required
• Punctual and dependable
• Purchase and wear safety shoes
• Complete required orientation and training
• Follow Longwood Gardens' policies, procedures, and standards

Time Required:

• The time commitment is flexible but should be on a regular basis, such as weekly, biweekly, or monthly
