Inventory Assistant
Function: Keep accurate records of location and status of books in the collection
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Locate lost or missing books
- Generate appropriate inventory lists
- Update SydneyPlus holdings and shelf list holdings
- Visit offices to check assigned holdings
- Check the main library’s holdings
- Locate and fix errors within the SydneyPlus catalog
- Carry out other tasks as necessary under the direction of the Library Assistant
Requirements/Expectations:
- An understanding of the Library of Congress Classification System
- Willingness to learn SydneyPlus (requires general PC knowledge)
- Ability to work independently
- Complete required orientation and training
- Follow Longwood Gardens policies, procedures, and standards
- Familiarity with the Longwood Library Procedures Manual
