Main Fountain Garden

Function: 

Assist gardening staff with maintenance of plants in Longwood's Main Fountain Garden

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Care and maintenance of a variety of plant material including roses, topiary, containers, woody and herbaceous plants
• Plant, prune, mulch, water, and deadhead plants as needed
• Clean walks and paths
• Divide herbaceous plants
• Assist staff with other work as needed
• Assist with display changes

Requirements/Expectations:

• Able to work independently and with others
• Able to learn and become proficient in various corrective and annual pruning techniques
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Complete required orientation and training
• Must follow Longwood Gardens’ policies, procedures and standards
• Able to accept direction and guidance from work supervisor
• Punctual and dependable
• Must purchase safety shoes

Time Required:

• Minimum of 4.5 hours per week, March through October
