Meet the Pumpkin Grower

On October 17,  "tons" of giant pumpkins will be arriving at Longwood Gardens. Months of work and care go into growing these amazing gourds.

The right kind of seed must be picked, seedlings need to be covered with structures that protect them from wind and frost, and pumpkins must be carefully and gradually repositioned on the vine.
