Performing Arts Information Table Attendant
Function:
Greet visitors that attend Performing Arts Programs. Staff the Performing Arts Information Table. Answer questions about Longwood, Performing Arts and future concerts. Hand out flyers and publicity materials. Aid the Performance Managers with crowd control as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet visitors as they enter the performance area
- Use resources to learn about the Performing Arts, upcoming events, Longwood Gardens and the artist to better answer visitor’s questions
- Hand out flyers and monitor the performing arts mailing list
- Assist visitors with questions or concerns regarding their Longwood visit
Requirements/Expectations:
- Interest in interacting with people
- Ability to interact comfortably with Longwood visitors of all ages
- Interest in and/or some knowledge of Performing Arts and Longwood Gardens (available on Longwood’s website at longwoodgardens.org)
- Interest in working with Longwood staff to increase visitor’s enjoyment of concerts
- Complete required orientation and training
- Follow Longwood Gardens' policies, procedures, and standards
- This volunteer position may be shared by more than one volunteer to maximize the experience for both visitors and volunteers
Time Required:
- Two to three hours per session
- Concerts are scheduled throughout the year. (Mostly weekends, with an occasional weekday evening during the summer)
- The performing arts table is not used during the Christmas Season
