Concerts and Performances

All the Garden's a Stage!

Longwood founder Pierre du Pont's interest in music and theater inspired him to create performance venues throughout the Gardens. Longwood's extensive performing arts program enriches each season with performances that bring picturesque settings to life.

More than 400 performances are presented each year by artists of all levels, from world class, international artists to local community groups. Longwood presents performances of all types—from theater and dance to fun family concerts and music from around the world—in beautiful and unique settings year-round. Live concerts can also be heard on the Gardens’ two residential instruments: the 62-bell carillon and a 10,010 pipe organ, one of the largest resident organs in the world (after reconstruction of the instrument is completed). Most concerts are free with Gardens Admission.
