Students enrolled in the College Internship, International or Professional Gardener Training Program can live on the property in a dynamic social community known as Red Lion Row. The Professional Gardener (PG) program is a two-year, tuition-free program offered every year to approximately eight individuals. PG Students work in all horticultural areas of the garden and receive classroom instruction from Longwood staff and outside instructors. The international program is a twelve-month practical training experience provided each year for students from other countries. International students rotate monthly through various indoor and outdoor training assignments. The College Internship program is a three-to-twelve-month program specializing in one of many areas throughout the garden. It is offered to college students to gain practical experience, learn career skills and study amid the world's premier horticultural display. International and College interns attend weekly student activities together, such as field trips and special lectures. All students attend monthly student meetings, which provide updates and a place to raise questions, concerns, or ideas.
