Bring your summer campers to Longwood for 90 minute lessons taught by garden educators!
Get Fit (K-8)
Put on your sneakers and get ready to walk! Students will explore the beautiful aromatic gardens as they learn how to navigate through different areas using a compass and a map. Students will wear pedometers to record the number of steps taken during this expedition. Groups will compare scores to declare a “winner."
Make Me an Artist (K-8)
The garden becomes the living model for creating works of art. Students discover the natural beauty of Longwood as they experiment with colors to create original pieces of artwork mimicking impressionist painting techniques.
Nutrition Expedition (K-8)
Come and discover the fruits and vegetables in our garden and the pollinators that make them grow. Students will explore the vegetable garden area using clues to seek and find specific plants and pollinators found here during the summer months. Students will gain an appreciation of the nutritional value plants provide us with, as they get an up close look at how common produce grows.
To register, please contact K12 reservations at 610-388-5210. Please note payment in full is required 2 weeks prior to program date.
