The Picnic Area

The Picnic Area is outside the main part of the Gardens, and is accessible only by car or motorcoach via Longwood Road. This area features 70 picnic tables, grills, restroom facilities and ample parking in the shade of tall trees.

The Picnic Area is available to Longwood visitors only, on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, the picnic area will open in mid-April and will remain open through mid-September from 9:00 am until dusk (weather permitting). From mid-September through Christmas, the picnic area will close at 4:00 pm. To gain entry into the Gardens, guests must drive to the main parking lot and enter through the Visitor Center.
