1906-2006 Longwood Welcomes New Director
Longwood Gardens welcomes Paul B. Redman as its new director. Paul joined Longwood July 17, 2006 from Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Garden in Columbus, Ohio, where he served as Executive Director since 1997. Paul also served as Interim Executive Director and Director of Horticulture at Franklin Park Conservatory and served as Visitors Program Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator at National Tropical Botanical Garden in Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii. Paul succeeds Fred Roberts, who retired after serving as Longwood's Director since 1984.

What's in Bloom?
The outdoor waterlily display is alive with more than 100 types of day and night-blooming tropical waterlilies, hardy day-bloomers, lotus, and other aquatic plants. And, the 600-foot-long Flower Garden Walk is blooming with a riot of summer color.
Volunteer Opportunities Longwood has an active group of nearly 450 volunteers who assist staff throughout the organization. If you are interested in gardening in our world famous Gardens or plant production facility, wish to receive training in cut flower preparation to assist with our floral design courses, want to interact with our 800,000 annual visitors to help them enjoy their Longwood visit, or would like to help us develop a Volunteer position we have not thought of as yet, please contact Dave Thompson, Volunteer Coordinator, at 610-388-1000 ext. 522.
Group Visits Calling all red hatters! Longwood's next Senior Day, September 26, will celebrate all things red and purple.
