Longwood Gardens offers excellent horticulture internship opportunities for college students to gain practical experience, learn horticultural career skills and study horticulture in one of the world's premier public display gardens. Each intern specializes in one of 14 horticulture or education internship areas throughout the garden. Internship opportunities range in length from 3 to 12 months. New for Summer 2010: Longwood is pleased to announce the Rotational Summer Internship in Public Horticulture, a new internship opportunity for college and university students completing their sophomore or junior year. Click the link above for a detailed description of this unique opportunity.
The program is open to current college students and individuals who have graduated within the past year and are legally able to work in the United States. All interns must have a valid driver's license. International students may look into Longwood's International Gardener Training Program.
There are three separate application cycles and start dates throughout the calendar year. Please download and complete the internship application for the appropriate start date. Applications are available in Microsoft Word format with fillable forms. We prefer to receive applications through email vs. snail mail. Please fill out the application in Word, save it to your hard disk and email it to EDU-Studies@longwoodgardens.org
