Construction is complete on the new East Plaza at Longwood, designed by Kim Wilkie. This new space is a central and stately destination for Longwood Gardens' guests. Its open and welcoming design provides grand views of the Conservatory, space to relax, and environment friendly rest rooms. The Plaza opened on October 9, 2010.
A circle of stately stone paving flows through the space, creating a grand walkway that leads guests to the majestic Conservatory.
A terraced lawn surrounds the Plaza. The area may one day be used for informal gatherings, including educational talks and demonstrations.
